Cognizant Technology Solutions has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 3Cloud, a top independent Microsoft Azure services provider and global leader in Azure-dedicated AI enablement solutions. This acquisition will deepen Cognizant’s role as a strategic partner for enterprise AI readiness and digital transformation, by bringing in 3Cloud’s advanced expertise in data and AI, application innovation and cloud platforms for enterprise clients.
This move advances Cognizant’s AI builder strategy, enabling its clients to quickly build, deploy and scale enterprise AI solutions underpinned by modern infrastructure optimized for AI-led operations. By combining 3Cloud’s Azure, data & AI and app innovation know-how with Cognizant’s global scale, technology frameworks and industry expertise, the companies are assembling one of the largest global Microsoft partners.
Strategic benefits and expanded capabilities
The combined company is positioned to become one of the most credentialled Microsoft AI partners, with more than 21,000 Azure-certified experts and many awards including Microsoft’s 2025 U.S. SI Partner of the Year and U.S. Channel Partner of the Year.
3Cloud serves a primarily enterprise-scale clientele across banking & financial services, healthcare, technology and consumer sectors. Since 2020, the firm has realised 20 % organic compound annual growth, with expected growth exceeding 20 % in 2025, driven by strong demand for Azure-powered business transformation.
Upon closing the acquisition, 3Cloud will contribute more than 1,000 additional Azure experts and engineers, and in excess of 1,500 Microsoft certifications, to Cognizant’s global capabilities. 3Cloud’s approximately 1,200 employees including about 700 in the United States will integrate into Cognizant’s network of nearly 20,000 Azure-certified associates worldwide.
