Before joining OpenAI, Simson was associated with George P Johnson Experience Marketing and previously led the Asia team at CAPITAL-e Marketing & Events. Her experience has included developing regional events, managing teams and working with organizations on large-scale experiences.

Her move to OpenAI comes as artificial intelligence companies increasingly use events and in-person experiences as part of how they engage customers, partners, developers and wider technology communities. For organizations operating across diverse APAC markets, regional events can also provide a channel for adapting global technology conversations to local audiences.

Simson’s appointment places her experience in experiential marketing within one of the technology sector’s most rapidly evolving areas. Her APAC remit also gives her responsibility for a region with varied technology markets, business environments and levels of AI adoption.

The appointment represents another example of how event and marketing leadership roles are evolving alongside the growth of AI, with companies increasingly looking for ways to connect digital innovation with direct audience experiences.
