Mistral AI, a leading European artificial intelligence developer, announced the launch of Mistral 3, its next generation of open-source AI models designed to support a wide range of enterprise and developer requirements. This release features a full suite of models, from compact edge-optimized versions to an advanced flagship model, all under the permissive Apache 2.0 license.

The comprehensive Mistral 3 family includes three state-of-the-art Ministral models with 14B, 8B, and 3B parameters optimized for localized and edge-centric applications, as well as Mistral Large 3, the company’s most powerful offering to date. The large-scale model employs a sparse mixture-of-experts architecture, featuring 41B active and 675B total parameters, and was trained extensively on 3,000 NVIDIA H200 GPUs.

Mistral Large 3 ranks among the highest-performing open-weight models available and has already debuted near the top of independent benchmarks, demonstrating its capability across diverse tasks such as coding, content generation, workflow automation, and multilingual conversation.
