IgniteTech, an AI-first enterprise software leader, has announced a series of strategic investments and customer-centric initiatives designed to propel the growth and evolution of the Khoros platform. This marks a significant milestone following IgniteTech’s acquisition of Khoros in May 2025, signaling a new era of innovation and modernization.
“With the acquisition of Khoros, we’re not just investing in the product, we’re rebuilding it,” said Eric Vaughan, CEO of IgniteTech and Khoros. “We’re partnering with customers, bringing in experts, and applying the same operating discipline we’ve used to successfully transform dozens of enterprise software companies. Our focus is on delivering AI-powered value at scale by leveraging what made the Khoros Community solution a leader in the first place.”
IgniteTech is fast-tracking the introduction of advanced AI capabilities across the Khoros platform while reinforcing its dedication to customer collaboration, community-driven innovation, and cutting-edge product development. Central to this transformation is Aurora, Khoros’s next-generation platform architecture, purpose-built for seamless AI integration and scalable engagement.
As part of its renewed strategy, IgniteTech is deepening its engagement with Khoros customers and the broader community ecosystem. Continuing in his role as Chief Community Evangelist at Khoros, Michael Puhala will spearhead customer outreach and serve as a key liaison to the global network of community professionals.
“Khoros has a strong heritage, and I’m excited to see IgniteTech building on that with urgency and clarity,” said Puhala. “This is a real opportunity to bring community leadership into the AI era, and to make sure customers have a voice in shaping what comes next.”

Further enhancing its community-driven approach, IgniteTech has teamed up with renowned community strategist Jake McKee, known for his work with leading brands such as LEGO, Apple, and EA Games. McKee will serve as a strategic advisor, ensuring that Khoros’s community strengths align with IgniteTech’s vision and operational excellence.
“IgniteTech’s approach to Khoros puts people and customers at the center,” said McKee. “This is about combining the best of Khoros’s legacy with the clarity, focus, and AI capabilities needed to lead the next era of community.”
Demonstrating its commitment to the global community ecosystem, IgniteTech has also sponsored the prestigious Community-Led World Conference during London Community Week 2025. At the event, Puhala, McKee, and IgniteTech’s Chief AI Officer, Thibault Bridel-Bertomeu, engaged with community leaders and Khoros customers in a dedicated listening initiative. This effort aimed to gain deeper insights into the evolving needs of the Khoros user base and the broader community management landscape.
Looking ahead, IgniteTech is reimagining the Khoros platform to align with the industry shift from traditional search-driven support to AI-powered community ecosystems. The next wave of platform enhancements will empower customers to maintain brand visibility within AI-generated answers, spotlight valuable contributions from trusted users, and encourage greater active participation within communities.
Aurora stands as the foundation for Khoros’s future innovations. While the Classic Community platform will remain supported, IgniteTech is taking a careful, customer-first approach to migrations, ensuring that transitions only occur when the new platform fully meets or surpasses customer expectations.
“Khoros is moving forward with a clear plan, a dedicated team, and customers at the center,” said Vaughan. “We’re not maintaining the old model. We’re building what comes next.”
