IBM UK has formally announced the strategic acquisition of Logiq Consulting, a prominent UK-based cybersecurity consultancy accredited by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). The move aims to significantly enhance IBM’s digital sovereignty and specialized cybersecurity offerings across highly regulated sectors, including the UK Defence Industry, Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), and broader public sector bodies.
Logiq Consulting provides niche capabilities in cybersecurity assurance, Secure by Design approach, secure systems engineering, digital transformation, and managed security services. The company ensures that through security embedded in the core architecture of the technology ecosystem, the organization will be resilient in the complex environment.
Strategic Synergy and Enhanced Digital Sovereignty
The addition of Logiq Consulting expands IBM’s cybersecurity transformation portfolio while complementing the capabilities of SiXworks, an existing IBM company specializing in defense and public sector digital modernizations.
Taken together, the combined entities enable IBM’s larger strategy of hybrid cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital sovereignty. With such a strategy, it becomes possible for businesses in the UK to have total control over critical data while also operating within the complex regulatory environment.
