CompTIA and SGInnovate Partner on AI and Cybersecurity Talent

Related stories

CompTIA and SGInnovate have announced a strategic partnership with the provision of an all-inclusive package of learning and workforce upskilling initiatives to strengthen Singapore’s deep tech talent pipeline. This collaboration comes in the form of an MOU focused on jointly developing local deep tech talent while a new CyberReady+ Bootcamp and the launch of CompTIA’s first-of-its-kind SecAI+ certification are ready to be rolled out.

Strengthening the National Innovation Economy

CompTIA, a global information technology certifications leader, and SGInnovate, a deep tech ecosystem builder and investor, have entered into an official partnership to ensure that Singapore’s expanding deep tech talent pool possesses skills that matter in AI, cybersecurity, and other cutting-edge technologies.

CompTIA has agreed, as part of the MOU, to make its suite of certifications recognized around the world available to individuals seeking in-demand skills. SGInnovate has agreed, in turn, to activate its national innovation ecosystem of innovators, startups, and enterprises to create connections between individuals looking to upskill and career-enhancing pathways in Singapore’s high-growth areas in deep tech.

These two groups will join their strength to assist local professionals to cope with fast technological changes and to improve the competitiveness of Singapore at the regional level for being a hub for innovations and deep technologies.

“As AI-powered cyber-attacks increase, and AI and cybersecurity become increasingly critical to Singapore’s innovation economy, developing talent in these areas is a national priority,” said Juliana Lim, Executive Director – People, SGInnovate. “Our collaboration with CompTIA allows us to upskill individuals through a blend of preparatory workshops and formal certifications. By bridging the gap between training and employment, we ensure Singapore’s workforce remains future-ready and directly connected to meaningful opportunities across the deep tech ecosystem.”

Launch of CyberReady+ Bootcamp Series

In addressing the pressing need for more cybersecurity expertise in Singapore, CompTIA together with SG Innovate has introduced the launch of a new initiative called the CyberReady+ Bootcamp, which is a structured three-step cybersecurity pathway for mid-tier professionals, new graduates, as well as individuals who aim to transition theirs into this field:

Foundation: Essential networking concepts, security controls, and network defense principles.

Intermediate: Analyst workflows, such as threat intelligence, vulnerability triage, and basic Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).

Advanced: The interaction of AI and cyber security, with emphasis on threat hunting, safe automation (SOAR), and AI-integrated system security.

The boot camp will comprise a series of three workshops because the program will cater to individuals with non-technical to basic cybersecurity backgrounds. The program will help individuals acquire skills they will need for real-world cybersecurity prior to undergoing certification programs.

First-of-its-kind SecAI+ Certification Track

As AI adoption accelerates across industries, CompTIA is also introducing SecAI+ — its first global certification dedicated to securing, governing, and responsibly integrating AI within cybersecurity operations. The certification track will be designed to help professionals acquire a skill set that will enable them to protect AI systems from up-and-coming threats while supporting regulatory and compliance requirements and responsibly applying automation and AI-driven innovation in security environments.

The launching of SecAI+ was a direct response to the increasing skills gap in the talent pool which was identified by SGInnovate’s Deep Tech Central (DTC) insights. Specifically, within 2024 to 2025, the hiring needs in the SGInnovate platform for jobs in the field of AI and cybersecurity escalated by 44%. Meanwhile, even though hiring application escalated by 65%, only one out of five applicants was able to meet the standards of the required skills necessary for the talent pool in deep tech industries in Singapore.
