Bitdefender, a global cybersecurity leader, announced that Frank Koelmel, a cybersecurity professional with more than three decades of experience leading multinational cybersecurity and software organizations growth strategies, has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) for the Bitdefender Business Solutions Group.

In his new role, Koelmel will lead global business development and revenue growth, driving go-to-market initiatives across Bitdefender’s business unit. He will also focus on aligning sales, marketing, and customer success to drive execution and operational performance, while helping organizations address evolving challenges in security and digital sovereignty as the threat landscape and data governance become increasingly complex.

“Organizations are struggling to mitigate growing cyber risk while controlling cost and complexity,” said Frank Koelmel, chief revenue officer at Bitdefender. “They must also navigate evolving data regulations, governance, and digital sovereignty requirements as AI continues to accelerate both threats and operational complexity. Bitdefender is uniquely positioned to address these challenges with advanced cybersecurity capabilities that reduce risk, optimize operations, and strengthen cyber resilience. I look forward to working alongside our customers and partners helping turn security into a true business enabler.”

Koelmel brings extensive leadership experience in scaling global go-to-market strategies and driving sustained performance across the cybersecurity sector. Most recently, he served as CRO at Logpoint (now Guardsix), where he led global customer teams focused on expansion and retention. Prior to that, he was president and general manager of the Americas and EMEA at Cybereason, where he oversaw revenue and customer organizations, and held senior leadership roles at Palo Alto Networks and FireEye, building high-performing sales teams and partner ecosystems.

Koelmel joins Bitdefender at a pivotal time as AI reshapes the threat landscape and introduces new challenges for organizations. With a long history of technology innovation and trusted by thousands of businesses worldwide, Bitdefender is well positioned to meet growing demand for solutions that address faster, more automated, and increasingly sophisticated attacks.

Central to Bitdefender’s portfolio is GravityZone, a unified security, risk management, and compliance platform delivering endpoint protection, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and extended detection and response (XDR), seamlessly integrated with its managed detection and response (MDR) services.

Building on this foundation, Bitdefender recently introduced PHASR (Proactive Hardening and Attack Surface Reduction), the industry’s first endpoint security solution to combine dynamic, behavior-based security hardening with real-time threat intelligence to proactively stop ransomware, fileless, and living-off-the-land (LOTL) attacks.

“Frank brings a wealth of cybersecurity expertise, deep market knowledge, and a proven track record of scaling global revenue organizations,” said Andrei Florescu, president and general manager, Bitdefender Business Solutions Group. “His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to expand our business presence, strengthen our partner ecosystem, and deliver high-impact security solutions that help organizations mitigate risk and navigate an increasingly complex and expanding attack surface.”
