Protecht, a global leader in enterprise risk management (ERM) software, has announced the upcoming launch of Cognita, its embedded AI assistant designed specifically to enhance governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) operations.

Cognita will debut in the November 2025 release of Protecht ERM, with early previews available this week at the Gartner Enterprise Risk, Audit, and Compliance Conference, where customers, prospects, and industry leaders will have the opportunity to experience the platform firsthand.

Unlike generic AI tools, Cognita has been purpose-built by risk management experts, leveraging Protecht’s trusted content and integrating directly into core ERM workflows. Its architecture emphasizes transparency and governance, offering explainable outputs, human-in-the-loop design, and embedded safeguards that make it both trustworthy and scalable for organizations.

“With Cognita, we’re making AI practical and trustworthy for risk leaders and frontline staff alike,” said Damien Stevens, Chief Marketing & Product Officer at Protecht. “It guides users step-by-step, strengthens accountability, and turns risk data into a strategic advantage – all without sacrificing governance or control.”

Cognita empowers employees at every level to act as proactive risk managers by:

  • Providing plain-language, contextual prompts with step-by-step guidance

  • Reducing manual administrative tasks while improving data accuracy and accelerating reporting

  • Delivering transparent, auditable outputs trusted by regulators to reinforce accountability

  • Scaling seamlessly within Protecht ERM with built-in role-based permissions and oversight

“AI in GRC should never be a black box,” said Jason Phillips, CEO of Protecht. “Cognita ensures every suggestion is transparent, explainable, and accountable – empowering organisations to make faster, safer, and smarter decisions.”

By embedding intelligence directly into risk workflows, Protecht positions Cognita as a pivotal advancement for enterprises seeking to balance innovation with compliance, governance, and long-term resilience.
