Aignostics, the leader in AI technology, has recently made a significant announcement of launching its new product line HETA Clinical. This is an advanced collection of AI tools tailored to optimize all the processes related to pathologists’ workflow, from sampling intake through to molecular diagnostics.
The first set of HETA Clinical tools comprises four unique products focused on the analysis of the H&E images: HETA Quality Control, HETA Tumor Detect, HETA Mitosis and HETA Tumor Cellularity.
Resolving Critical Bottlenecks in Molecular Diagnostics
Conventional assessments of pathology slides are well known to be time-consuming and affected by intra-observer variability. According to estimates made by the most prominent academic medical centers and precision medicine laboratories, 10 to 20 percent of all molecular assays fail owing to inadequate tumor cellularity in the particular sample. Such situations often result in repeated biopsies and significant patient diagnostic delays.
HETA Clinical directly addresses these operational challenges by standardizing sample evaluations and automating high-volume routine tasks:
- HETA Quality Control: Pre-screen slides prior to deeper analysis to detect and flag automated scanning artifacts or quality issues.
- HETA Tumor Detect: Automatically annotates cancerous regions and flags positive cases immediately at the scanning phase, enabling labs to prioritize high-risk cases and order secondary stains at intake.
- HETA Mitosis: Standardizes cell division metrics by delivering precise, reproducible mitotic counts.
- HETA Tumor Cellularity: Quantifies overall tumor cell density and highlights high-yield regions to ensure downstream molecular assays meet required tissue thresholds.
“HETA Clinical gives labs a faster path through their workflow” said Dr. Rosemarie Krupar, VP of Pathology at Aignostics. “Measurements like tumor content and mitotic count are central to many pathology specialties and shape much of the work that follows a slide. Quantifying them cell by cell is where AI delivers consistency at scale, freeing pathologists’ time for the parts of the work that need their expertise.”

Scalable Architecture for Comprehensive Precision Medicine
Built upon Aignostics’ core foundation model HETA (formerly Atlas H&E-TME), the clinical lineup extends advanced spatial tissue profiling across a wide array of oncology subspecialties beyond common cancer types. In clinical evaluation studies, HETA’s underlying cellular classification engines matched or surpassed the diagnostic accuracy of expert human pathologists.
The announcement comes on the heels of Aignostics‘ recent preview of PathoSearch, a specialized visual search engine tailored for complex pathology cases. Moving forward, the company plans to continuously roll out additions to the HETA Clinical platform, integrating them into major image management infrastructure such as Techcyte Fusion® AP. Pathologists utilizing the Fusion system can request operational demonstrations through their dedicated Techcyte representatives.
