Docusign has announced that it will open its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server to all AI agents on September 30. With general global availability, Docusign’s agreement intelligence and governed workflow execution powered by its core AI engine, Docusign Iris will become natively accessible across platforms including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Slack, and any MCP-compliant client. The launch establishes an essential agreement layer directly accessible to the autonomous agents driving modern enterprise operations.
Establishing the Agreement Infrastructure for the Agentic Enterprise
Historically, critical data and transactional capabilities within enterprise contracts remained isolated inside standalone document repositories or manual approval queues. By opening its architecture through the Model Context Protocol, Docusign connects contract intelligence directly into the active AI environments where teams conduct daily work.
Building on two decades of open, API-first deployment with eSignature technology already embedded across more than 1,100 partner applications Docusign’s enterprise-grade MCP Server incorporates account-level administrative controls, global multi-region infrastructure, and multilingual capabilities. Powered by Iris, agents draw upon the full historic context of past negotiations, approved terms, clause libraries, and corporate policies across Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) workflows.

The platform supports bidirectional data flows, pulling context from enterprise systems such as Oracle directly into Docusign while simultaneously extending Docusign functionality into external environments like Slack, Perplexity, and Salesforce.
