Emerson has appointed Rudy Sengupta as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology & AI Officer, effective August 15, reinforcing its leadership team as the company accelerates its AI-enabled automation strategy. Sengupta will join Emerson’s Office of the Chief Executive and lead the company’s technology and AI vision across its portfolio of industrial software, intelligent devices, and automation solutions. He succeeds Peter Zornio, who will retire at the end of 2026 after two decades with the company.
Sengupta brings more than 20 years of technology leadership experience to the role. Since joining Emerson through its acquisition of NI, he has served as Vice President and General Manager of Test and Analytics Software within the Test & Measurement business. During his tenure, he helped expand software-driven offerings, integrated AI capabilities into testing workflows, and supported the growth of recurring software revenue.

In his new position, Sengupta will oversee Emerson’s long-term technology roadmap and enterprise AI initiatives.
