The world premiere of Schneider Electric’s new Uniflair XCA series of highly efficient air-cooled (XCAC) and free-cooling (XCAF) chillers tailored to meet the needs of AI-powered liquid-cooled data centers with high density has been made public. These unique devices come in six different sizes and can deliver from 1,200 to 2,500 kW of cooling power. They utilize oil-free magnetic bearings combined with variable-speed drives to remove the need for lubrication systems, boost heat dissipation, avoid mechanical losses, and provide an increase in efficiency up to 25%. To maximize their contribution to environmental sustainability, the new products use a spray-type evaporator along with V-shape microchannel coils and large-diameter EC fans, which ensure an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 4.66 and a lower amount of refrigerants. Crucially, the Uniflair XCA line features a wide operating range spanning temperatures from -20°C to +52°C and can handle elevated water outlet temperatures up to 33°C, unlocking up to 60% energy savings in moderate climates through enhanced free-cooling capabilities.

Highlighting the critical role of these design elements, Andrew Bradner, Senior Vice President, Cooling Business at Schneider Electric, stated, “Energy efficiency, adaptability and reliability are essential components of liquid cooling systems for AI-optimized data centers, and we’ve designed the Uniflair XCA line with these most important design features at the forefront. With adaptable water operating temperatures and versatile deployment options, the XCA line features a system-level approach that gives operators scalability, enhanced performance and long-term peace of mind as data center complexity continues to rise.” This highly configurable system equips operators with predictive efficiency, reduced compressor cycling, and higher operational stability. Capable of mitigating maintenance risks and lowering acoustic impacts, the Uniflair XCA chiller series effectively provides data centers with long-term business continuity, with initial product shipments scheduled to begin globally in June 2026.
