Inova Health Teams With Notable for AI-Led Digital Transformation

Related stories

Inova Health, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider, has launched a strategic partnership with Notable to deploy an enterprise-wide “Agentic AI” platform. The collaboration aims to combat the 2026 staffing crisis by automating high-friction administrative tasks across Inova’s 4 million annual patient visits.

The “Agentic” Difference: 2026 Strategy

Unlike traditional automation (RPA), which simply mimics human clicks, Notable’s AI Agents use Large Language Models (LLMs) and healthcare-specific logic to reason through complex tasks.

Phase 1: High-Impact Workflows

Inova is deploying Notable’s low-code Flow Builder to address two primary bottlenecks:

  • ADR & Denials Management: AI Agents automatically identify payer requests, pull records from the EHR, and assemble response packets. This is projected to reduce the time spent on manual documentation requests by up to 80%.

  • Closed-Loop Referrals (Orthopedics): Agents monitor referral orders, proactively text patients to schedule, and confirm completion. Inova expects this to reduce “referral leakage” by 20%, ensuring patients don’t drop out of the care loop.

“Our collaboration with Notable will simplify administrative processes, expand access, and ensure our teams can focus more of their time on caring for patients,” said Matt Kull, Chief Information and Digital Strategy Officer at Inova.

A Scalable AI Foundation

By choosing a platform-wide approach over “point solutions,” Inova is building a scalable AI foundation. Because Notable is purpose-built for healthcare, AI Agents can be extended from Orthopedics to other service lines without a massive IT lift.

Pranay Kapadia, CEO of Notable, emphasized that Inova is “redefining what it means to lead in digital transformation by making intelligent automation foundational to care delivery.”

The End of “Pilot” AI

For healthcare executives, the InovaNotable partnership represents the 2026 standard for AI maturity. The industry is moving away from testing “cool” AI tools and toward system-wide orchestration. For health systems handling millions of visits, the ability to review every chart and follow up on every referral via AI is no longer a luxury it is a requirement for financial survival.
