Synack, a leader in offensive security innovation, has introduced its agentic AI architecture, Sara (Synack Autonomous Red Agent), to enhance its Penetration Testing as a Service (PTaaS) platform with proactive, risk-based security validation through a human-in-the-loop model. By combining autonomous AI capabilities with the expertise of the Synack Red Team, Sara empowers organizations to reduce risk across their attack surfaces, addressing the growing challenge of AI-driven cyber threats. This next-generation platform adopts an AI-versus-AI approach, where AI-powered validation guided by human judgment mitigates machine-driven reconnaissance and attacks while reducing false positives. “Security teams are no longer just fighting humans they’re defending against AI-enhanced adversaries,” said Dr. Mark Kuhr, Synack co-founder and CTO. “With our Sara agentic AI and human-in-the-loop model, we equip defenders with the same level of intelligence and speed, turning the tables in this era of AI-versus-AI cybersecurity.”

Sara offers scalable, adaptive assessments of attack surface risk, with Sara Triage part of Synack’s new Active Offense product immediately available for autonomous triage of exploitable vulnerabilities, and Sara Pentest, scheduled for later this year, set to deliver full-scope penetration tests in partnership with the Synack Red Team. Its architecture enables the detection of complex vulnerabilities such as logic flaws and chained exploits by bridging automation with human insight. Key capabilities include integrated management of human and AI testing, on-demand access to 1,500+ security researchers, transparent agent decision-making, rapid attack surface coverage, and comprehensive reporting and analytics. Synack’s AI-powered PTaaS aligns with frameworks like Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) and supports global compliance standards. With native integrations into SIEM, EASM, vulnerability management, and ticketing systems, the platform ensures real-time operationalization of penetration testing results, delivering a robust and adaptive defense in an evolving threat landscape.
