SingleStoreDB’s Snowflake Native App will enable customers to build generative AI applications at better performance & lower costs

SingleStore, the company behind a database that empowers users to transact, analyze and contextualize data in real time, announced that SingleStoreDB will soon be available as a Snowflake Native App in the Snowflake Data Cloud. This integration, which utilizes the Snowflake Native App Framework and Snowpark Container Services, enables organizations to securely deploy SingleStoreDB inside their Snowflake account to vectorize and perform hybrid searches as part of generative AI applications without having to move or copy data outside of the Snowflake governance boundary.

An increasing number of companies are now using Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to provide enterprise context using private data to their generative AI applications built with Large Language Models (LLMs). This pattern typically requires searching vast amounts of data using both keyword and vector based semantic search.

“With its real-time data capabilities, SingleStoreDB is positioned to enable customers to innovate, especially in this next generation of AI,” said Raj Verma, CEO, SingleStore. “By providing these capabilities natively within a customer’s Snowflake account, this integration will bring SingleStore’s vector and full-text search capabilities to help customers across industries build solutions to better manage, understand and contextualize their data in millisecond response times at petabyte scale, all without their data leaving Snowflake.”

By leveraging the Snowflake Data Cloud, SingleStore is joining Snowflake in making the complex easy by helping organizations store and query vector data alongside other types of data. Customers will be able to build enterprise generative AI applications using RAG on vector embeddings stored in SingleStore.

“Snowflake is laser focused on being the best place for customers to easily build powerful applications and our collaboration with SingleStore expands on that vision,” said Tarik Dwiek, Head of Technology Alliances at Snowflake. “Our collaboration with SingleStore’s vector search capabilities is aimed at adding more flexibility and choice for our joint customers to leverage the latest LLM and AI frameworks.”

SingleStore has been on a fast track as the contextual database leading innovation around real-time AI. Just last month, at its developer conference, SingleStore Now, the company announced significant real-time AI product innovations. Among them, SingleStore Scope, a state-of-the-art hybrid search that combines fast vector search and fulltext search, as well as SingleStore Notebooks, web-based Jupyter notebooks for creating, exploring, visualizing and collaborating on data analysis and workflows using SQL or Python code and SingleStore Elegance, an SDK for building full-stack, real-time AI applications that are pre-configured to work with SingleStoreDB.

Snowflake Marketplace has over 80 Snowflake Native Apps available today, and over 100 providers are currently developing apps that span multiple industries and use cases. By being Powered by Snowflake, SingleStore is able to create new revenue streams by distributing its app to thousands of Snowflake customers, without these customers having to move or expose their data.
