Color Health and Google Cloud teamed up to improve access to breast cancer screening. They will use artificial intelligence (AI) to make this happen. The partnership highlights Color Assistant. This AI agent helps streamline screening. It checks eligibility, sets up mammograms, and coordinates follow-up treatment. The program is open to all women aged 40 and older, as well as those who are at high risk for breast cancer. The program, which is supported by Google.org, will continue until December 31, 2025.
Closing the Screening Gap
Although screening services exist, most women are behind on their mammograms. Current statistics indicate that up to one in three women are not up to date on their screening, with many millions more at greater risk who are not even aware that they must get screened earlier or more frequently. The Color Health and Google Cloud collaboration seeks to close the gap by employing technology to expand access and efficiency of screening.
The Place of AI in Expanding Screening Access
The Color Assistant utilizes Google Cloud’s generative AI, including Gemini 2.5 models and an agentic framework, to handle multi-step tasks. Deployed on Vertex AI’s Agent Engine, the system ensures security and performance. The AI agent automates eligibility assessments and scheduling. This cuts down on the admin work for clinicians. As a result, they can focus more on direct patient care. This approach aims to hurry access to screenings and improve patient experience.

Integration with Virtual Cancer Clinic
The Color Assistant is integrated with Color Health’s Virtual Cancer Clinic, which provides comprehensive cancer care, ranging from risk assessment and early detection to treatment coordination and survivorship care, all directed by oncologists. The integration is to make sure that patients receive continuous and coordinated care throughout the screening and treatment process.
Commitment to Community Health
This partnership is a testament to a mutual commitment to advancing public health results in new ways through collaboration. By bringing Color Health‘s cancer care expertise together with Google Cloud‘s extremely sophisticated AI strengths, the initiative will make breast cancer screening timelier, more accessible, and more effective for women across the United States.
