Anthony Rossini has joined Databricks as Associate Director, Lakebase Sales, marking a new chapter in his technology career after four years at Elastic. Rossini shared the move on LinkedIn, saying he is excited to join Databricks and its strategic push around Lakebase and the evolution of operational databases for AI-driven applications.
At Elastic, Rossini worked in security-focused sales, most recently serving as a Security Specialist Sales Executive. His experience included helping organizations address security and technology challenges as enterprises increasingly adopted cloud, data and AI technologies. His transition to Databricks brings that customer-facing experience into a growing area of the data infrastructure market.
Rossini’s new role centers on Lakebase, Databricks’ operational database technology designed for intelligent applications and AI agents. Lakebase provides a fully managed, serverless Postgres environment and connects operational workloads with the broader Databricks Data + AI Platform. The company says the technology is designed to support applications that require real-time data while reducing the complexity of maintaining separate operational and analytical systems.

The move comes as enterprises increasingly look to modernize their data infrastructure for AI. Traditional operational databases were largely designed around conventional applications, while AI agents and intelligent applications require faster access to current data and the ability to operate across transactional and analytical workloads.
Databricks has positioned Lakebase as part of this shift, with the platform now generally available on AWS and in beta on Azure. The company is targeting use cases ranging from real-time applications to AI agents and other data-intensive workloads.
Rossini’s appointment reflects the growing commercial importance of operational data infrastructure as organizations move from experimenting with AI toward deploying intelligent applications at scale.
