Meta Names Dina Powell McCormick as President and Vice Chairman

Meta announced the appointment of Dina Powell McCormick as President and Vice Chairman, marking a significant leadership milestone as the company embarks on its next phase of growth. Effective immediately, Powell McCormick will join Meta’s executive leadership team and report directly to Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Powell McCormick previously served as an invaluable member of Meta’s Board of Directors and has been deeply engaged in advancing the company’s efforts in frontier artificial intelligence and personal superintelligence. This appointment positions her to play a pivotal role in guiding Meta’s overall strategy, execution, and multi-billion-dollar infrastructure initiatives globally.

As Meta scales its global investments including data centers, energy systems, and connectivity initiatives Powell McCormick will partner with the compute and infrastructure teams to ensure that these strategic investments align with the company’s long-term goals and drive meaningful economic impact in communities worldwide. She will also lead efforts to build innovative capital partnerships to expand Meta’s long-term investment capacity.

About Dina Powell McCormick

Powell McCormick brings more than 25 years of executive experience spanning global finance, national security, and economic development. She spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs in senior leadership roles, including serving on the firm’s Management Committee and leading its Global Sovereign Investment Banking business. During her tenure, she spearheaded major economic development initiatives that delivered long-term growth and opportunity across global markets.

In public service, Powell McCormick has served in high-impact roles under two U.S. presidents. She was Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald J. Trump and served as a Senior White House Advisor and Assistant Secretary of State under President George W. Bush. Prior to joining Meta, she held the role of Vice Chair, President, and Head of Global Client Services at BDT & MSD Partners.
