Microsoft has announced the general availability of new collaborative AI agents within Microsoft 365 Copilot, designed to enhance teamwork and streamline communication across Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Viva Engage. These advancements aim to transform how organizations plan, meet, and collaborate by integrating context-aware AI support into everyday workflows.

Building upon the foundation laid by previous updates, these new agents extend the capabilities of Microsoft 365 Copilot beyond individual productivity, enabling teams to leverage AI for collective intelligence. The introduction of these agents marks a significant step towards fostering human-agent collaboration in the workplace.

“Work is fundamentally a team sport, yet until now AI has largely been a personal assistant,” said Nicole Herskowitz, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft 365 and Copilot. “Today, we’re introducing new collaboration-focused agents for Microsoft 365 Copilot users giving every team, project, meeting, and community an AI teammate, adding context-aware AI to support the unique needs of every collaboration scenario.”

These collaborative agents are now available to all Microsoft 365 Copilot users in public preview, with the Facilitator for Teams meetings feature already generally available. The rollout underscores Microsoft’s commitment to integrating AI into the fabric of organizational collaboration, aiming to reduce miscommunication, accelerate decision-making, and enhance overall productivity.
