CrowdStrike to Acquire Pangea to Secure Enterprise AI Layers

CrowdStrike

CrowdStrike announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Pangea, a recognized leader in AI security. The acquisition is set to expand the capabilities of the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, introducing the industry’s first end-to-end AI Detection and Response (AIDR) solution. This comprehensive approach will secure data, models, agents, identities, infrastructure, and interactions spanning from enterprise AI development to workforce adoption.

“AI is rewriting the enterprise attack surface at breakneck speed. Each prompt becomes an entry point for the adversary,” said George Kurtz, CEO and founder of CrowdStrike. “With Pangea, CrowdStrike will secure the entire AI lifecycle, detecting risks, enforcing safeguards, and ensuring compliance, so our customers can confidently build, deploy, and scale AI without risk.”

Extending CrowdStrike’s Leadership: From EDR to AIDR

CrowdStrike transformed cybersecurity with its pioneering Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), now the global standard for endpoint protection. With the integration of Pangea, CrowdStrike is applying that same innovation to AI delivering the industry’s first complete AIDR platform. This solution unifies visibility, compliance, and enforcement across the full AI lifecycle, from development to enterprise-scale adoption.

The Falcon platform already secures the foundation of AI by protecting models, environments, and workloads while safeguarding sensitive data from leaving endpoints or cloud infrastructure. Pangea enhances this by extending protection to the interaction layer, ensuring secure AI usage across the enterprise. Together, these capabilities provide organizations with full-spectrum control and visibility, keeping prompts and AI-driven systems resilient against adversaries.

Pangea’s Breakthrough Capabilities

Through this acquisition, CrowdStrike will bring Pangea’s advanced AI security capabilities into the Falcon platform, including:

Securing AI Where It Matters Most

Unlike traditional workloads, AI resides where models are trained and deployed in the cloud, datacenters, endpoints, and through both human and machine identities. As AI adoption grows, adversaries increasingly target these environments. With Pangea integrated into Falcon, CrowdStrike will deliver protection across the entire AI ecosystem, extending its proven platform leadership to this rapidly expanding attack surface.

“Pangea was founded to make AI adoption safe and secure, giving enterprises the visibility and guardrails to embrace AI with confidence,” said Oliver Friedrichs, CEO and founder of Pangea. “By joining CrowdStrike, we will be able to deliver this vision on a global scale, unifying AI security with the Falcon platform and creating the industry’s first complete AI Detection and Response platform.”
