Halo Unveils Halo X Smart Glasses with AI-Powered Capabilities

Halo

Halo, a newly formed startup, announced the launch of its first product, Halo X, a pair of AI-enabled smart glasses designed to give users what the company calls “superhuman intelligence.”

The Halo X glasses feature a built-in display and microphone, enabling users to record and recall their surroundings, revisit past conversations, and access stored information instantly. The device also allows users to interact with an AI chatbot, with responses appearing in text format on the integrated display.

Co-founders AnhPhu Nguyen and Caine Ardayfio, both Harvard dropouts and creators of the viral I-Xray app that was integrated with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, are leading the company’s innovation in the wearable tech space.

Speaking on the product design, Caine Ardayfio said, “For the hardware we’re making, we want it to be discreet, like normal glasses.” He further noted that Halo is placing responsibility on buyers to follow regional and legal consent requirements in jurisdictions where recording without permission is prohibited.

Halo X operates on dual AI systems, combining Google’s Gemini for conversational, mathematical, and reasoning-based tasks with Perplexity AI for retrieving real-time information from the Internet. Unlike many competing devices, the Halo X does not include a camera or speakers; instead, it delivers outputs exclusively through its smart display.

The company stated that the glasses are “private by design,” emphasizing that the device does not train on, share, or sell users’ conversations. The device records audio, automatically transcribes it, and deletes the file, prioritizing user privacy.
