Kaltura, the AI Video Experience Cloud, announced that on November 5 2025 it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire eSelf.ai, an Israel-based, multilingual AI platform specialising in hyper-realistic avatar agents. The acquisition signals Kaltura’s strategic move to incorporate interactive, AI-driven avatars into video-centric business and learning experiences.
Under the terms of the agreement, Kaltura will purchase eSelf.ai for approximately US $27 million, comprising an upfront cash payment of US $7.5 million at closing, up to an additional US $12.5 million in cash over the following three years contingent on performance milestones, and approximately 4,690,025 shares of Kaltura common stock vesting across the next three years.
Founded in 2023, eSelf.ai has developed a multimodal AI lab built for enterprise-scale deployment of conversational avatars that support over 30 languages. Its proprietary technology merges low-latency speech recognition and generation, screen understanding, dynamic media sharing and expressive visual agents, enabling human-like interactions at scale.
Kaltura intends to integrate eSelf.ai’s avatar platform across its AI Video Experience Cloud portfolio enabling avatars that can “hear, talk and see” user screens and respond in real time and to launch new video-on-demand content-creation tools that embed photorealistic avatars into enterprise workflows. The acquisition also opens avenues for self-service interactive avatars, expanding Kaltura’s product-led growth (PLG) motion into new customer segments.
