Databricks and Google Cloud Deepen Partnership to Bring Gemini AI Models Natively to the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform

Databricks, the Data and AI company, today unveiled a strategic product collaboration with Google Cloud that will integrate the latest Google Gemini models directly into the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. This integration enables enterprises to securely build, deploy, and scale AI agents using Gemini’s powerful capabilities all within a unified, governed environment built around their proprietary data.

As organizations increasingly look to harness the power of AI to unlock insights from enterprise data, they face significant hurdles in maintaining data security, compliance, and operational efficiency. Traditional approaches often require shifting data between systems or dealing with inconsistent governance frameworks. Since 2021, Databricks and Google Cloud have been working together to bring data scalability to customers on Google Cloud. This expanded partnership takes that collaboration a step further by seamlessly combining Databricks’ unified platform with Gemini’s cutting-edge AI models.

The Gemini 2.5 model family marks a significant evolution in AI performance, offering superior reasoning, multi-step decision-making, and natural language understanding. The latest iterations Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 2.5 Flash now lead the industry across various performance benchmarks. Additionally, Databricks customers will benefit from the new “Deep Think” mode, which supports advanced reasoning capabilities along with enterprise-grade security protections. Because Gemini models are now native to the Databricks platform, users can access them directly through SQL queries and model endpoints — eliminating the need for third-party integrations or redundant data movement. Usage of Gemini will also be available under existing Databricks contracts for simplified procurement.
